Inspired by 19th-century botanical illustrations, Portmeirion Botanic Garden dinnerware features a lush array of hand-painted blossoms and butterflies. The pieces are perfect for a mix-and-match sensibility and suitable for year-round dining. Made in Britain from high-quality porcelain, they are safe in the oven, freezer, microwave, and dishwasher.

Added to the Botanic Garden line in 2003, this graceful oval platter puts its emphasis on a single gorgeous magnolia blossom surrounded by butterflies. The platter’s sides are deep and substantial, topped by a flat rim and bordered on the interior with simple laurel leaves. The shape is suitable for whole fish or roasted fowl and is styled to contain sauces. Measuring 15 by 9 by 1-1/2 inches, the piece is an especially lovely match with Botanic Garden’s other Sovereign-shape serving pieces. –Emily Bedard
